Monumental things have happened in the last few days. Yesterday was the 21st Anniversary of 9/11. Friday The longest reigning Monarch in history died, Queen Elizabeth. And last but not least Makeup Monday is on its 3rd week in a row 🥳

Definitely just my stab at Monday Morning Fatigie humor. Well aware that those afore mentioned occurrences are history and quite serious, I'm just hype about consistency. So on to our regularly scheduled program.

On this particular day I was on my way to a shed. I was asked to do a Janelle Monae song called "Queen". Everyone asked me if I did black and white because of a lyric where she says "will your god except me in my black and white"? The answer to this is No. I'm actually a sizeable Janelle fan, because of this I know she always wears black and white, it's her signature, a way that she has branded herself to where you know it's her without her ever saying a word.

One of the reasons I'm not really understood without a microphone being in my hand is because my life's purpose is contingent upon a microphone being in my hand. So when an opportunity is afforded me to put a mic in my hand I take it serious and you are going to enter my world. People think the microphone gives me access to my audience but the actual factual of the matter is you all finally get granted access to me! Said all of that to say, if you ask me to come perform a song by somebody especially if it's outside of church where I'll be allowed to have a personality and be granted permission for creativity, IM TAKING IT!

Therefore I wasn't just going To perform her song I was going to dress like her. Now, you would have thought ida did my makeup like her too but I guess this is where "Riecee Siren" was infused lol. Janelle is notorious for maybe a little shimmer on the eye and the line across the top, which I actually kind of nailed. Where it became a Riecee thing was the lipstick choice. Janelle is a red lipstick regular and to be honest it didn't even really cross my mind to do that til writing this blog post. I think I was honed in on the black and white with the focal point being the pants I had on because they weren't just black and white but one pants leg was black and the other white. That became an obsession in my mind for this look I guess. There's a saying "you can't be a little bit pregnant. You either are or you aren't." Another words be completely honest, go all the way or not at all. And if we're talking creativity, Im not a little bit pregnant, It's Twins in this Mug!!!!!!!

My Eyeshadow Primer was also by them except I was using their foundation primer and that is a long story about Walmart not having their primer and it was closing time and my soul was tired, weary and worn.

Concealer of course is by handy dandy IL MAKIAGE

That liquid eyeliner is by them as well. Not a huge fan of liquid eyeliner however while I was using that primer regular pencils didn't work they actually would start to pull up the eyeshadow lol it was an experience so shoutout to them because I didn't even pay for that liner, it was a gift 🎁

That should cover everything. Come back this weekend when we go back to stories on the street and I'll give you two weeks of thanksgiving horror stories. And believe it or not I have three I'm just choosing to tell two because they're juicy. Anyway enjoy the video below!!!

The song is by Max Frost I wanted to put Janelles song to it but it wasn't available on the app I used so I tried to pick something that kind of mirrored her some of her style. I LOVE this song .....and more often then not my freaking testimony with men🙄🤭
