MY MOANA MOMENT

We've done relationship talk the last two entries. I figured we could take a break for a Friday. Give you a glimpse into my scary mind on another subject because its fun in there right?
I am a huge fan of the movie "Moana". In my personal opinion it is the best film Disney has done that isn't a sequel since "Finding Nemo" and yes I'm well aware that "Frozen" falls within that time line, I said what I said. My Goddaughter wants to watch it like every freakin day so I see a lot of it. That movie actually makes me cry because I understand it on a number of levels. It's comforting, affirmative and disciplinary all at the same time but that's another blog post that I plan on writing in a few weeks on Neverday.
If you are familiar with the movie then you know that the general concept is that Moana was chosen by the water/sea to return this stone to its proper place and this in turn will rejuvenate the land. The stone was stolen by a demi god named Maui. When Moana was a baby the sea actually brought the stone to her as an affirmation of her being the one chosen to find Maui because no one had seen him in 1000 years and then return the stone to its destination. Moana was the village chiefs daughter and her father was against her sailing due to a tragedy he experienced on a boat so her purpose was opposed. The only support she received was from her grandmother because she was the only person who witnessed her inaugural selection by the sea. Spurred on by her grandmothers dying cheer and plea she steals a boat and sets sail. Remember that I told you earlier she had to find Maui in order to complete her quest. The issue is she has never sailed and Maui is a considerable distance away from her genesis. Moana starts experiencing some small issues and asks the sea for help because after all it chose her so if anyone could help her it would be the sea. Immediately following her request for assistance this storm came on the sea. Huge waves overtook her and she actually was knocked unconscious. When she came to she was on this island and furious. She thought her boat was wrecked and she didn't know where she was. She asked for freakin help and then she became overwhelmed and engulfed in a wave that knocked her clean smooth out. Where was the help? Dude that is so life. You're at your wits end trying to find a solution and here comes a storm. Que anger, cuss words, fury and the threat to just stop caring all together. But HOLD ON! Moana begins to look around and she sees Maui's symbol carved all over these rocks. The storm had the audacity to bring her to her destination. The sea actually did exactly what she asked it just wasn't how she asked.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for the good.
Truer words were never spoken. If you can learn to trust that everything that is allowed to take place is because there is a bigger picture in play you will save yourself a lot of time and loads of energy. I've been the poster child for misery. When people are miserable they come find me to figure out how to survive so I'm licensed to say what I'm getting ready to say. Every storm made me better and put me right where I need to be. Lost blood, pieces of my heart, countless people along the way but I'm better. I'm Moana of Motaney. Sike! But you get my point. My dad used to be a lifeguard and he said "when people get caught in waves and they drown its not the waves that kill them. People drown because when waves hit them they panic. If they would go with the flow of the water they would be fine."
I'm here just to tell you don't panic, just go with the waves.
