STORIES ON THE STREET

𝓖𝓻𝓪𝓹𝓱𝓲𝓬 𝓫𝔂: “𝓗𝓸𝓾𝓼𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓙𝓪𝔃𝔃𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓮”

"Alright water is boiling for the green beans ....yams are in the pot....macaroni and cheese is in the oven right? Yea. Yea. We're moving along good." Talking to herself Is most common so the oddity here is all the cooking more so than the talking. "Ping" she here's the high pitched ring that is too high to be a text so it has to be Facebook Messenger (yeeeeaaaaa you know the sound baby). She posted a picture of her in the mirror at the skating rink from that night on her Facebook Stories that was proving to be pretty popular, which is a blessing when you hear from people you like and a curse when it's from creeps. Of course you're only a creep if I don't wanna keep. When someone you want responds to all of your pictures that just makes you think he's serious and the truth of the matter is he's probably just a serious pervert but you never find that out until later and alas that is not the tale that we are telling today so onward march with our Thanksgiving Tale shall we. (Btw I'm narrating in a British accent so when you read this go to London in your mind thank you 😂)

She strolls over to the thermostat as she sweats perfusely "77 degrees and the heat isn't even on. No wonder I'm sweating." As she walks back to the kitchen she just happens to glance over at her Phone and remembers the aforementioned "ping" that she never responded to. Sliding the phone off the table with her left hand she continues into the kitchen without breaking stride. As she looks she is pleasantly surprised as the message is from one of her homies she knows from music. He compliments the picture without the creepy tone as he is not a repeat offender in her inbox.

As she forks the yams to see if they're soft enough she hears the "ping" again and it's the same name but this time she looks in time to read the message when it comes up before she actually goes in messenger (that timing is everything ain't it) and when she reads the words "I need to talk to you about something" a wave crashes up against the front of her stomach from the inside.

When you've been a victim of purposeless drama and constant lies you know the lingo when you hear it and when you see it. She put her fork down and replies and says "okay but I can tell you now I've never said ANYTHING about you at all so if this is that I can assure you it's a lie." She sits the phone down and just stares at the boiling water already knowing that her character is under siege. "Ping", a deeeeeep exhale exudes from her and she looks at the phone and reads his response out loud. "Yea I just wanna call real quick if I can because I was like she always been cool so idk why she would say that."

"Well you can call I'm just in here cooking" and hits send with her mind racing 90 mph trying to envision what freakin lie could have been told that would make somebody she barely knows say they need to talk to her. Standing by the flame with more heat coming off of her than the stove her Facebook Messenger starts ringing and it's an audio call. With another deeeep exhale that could be a gusting wind in a hurricane she answers the phone.

𝓖𝓻𝓪𝓹𝓱𝓲𝓬𝓼 𝓑𝔂 “𝓗𝓸𝓾𝓼𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓙𝓪𝔃𝔃𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓮”

"Hello"

"Hay Wassup"

"Nothing much, just cooking. So wassup?"

"Yes so I wanted to call Because some stuff happened the other week and I just wanted to see what you knew about it."

"Okay Shoot"

"Yea so Sergio went over to my wife at this event and said yea I just wanted to let you know that your husband and you (meaning the main character of the story that's been cooking this whole time) have been messing around for a while. And in the middle of that his wife Rebecca came over and was like I just wanted to pull you to the side to let you know he's cheating on you with her. So my wife came back to me like super mad and when she told me what they said I was just like yo she always been cool so why would she say that."

Then there is a pause because Chef Sis is stunned and she's waiting for him to say sike naw or I was just playing and when that doesn't occur with a mixture of raw emotion and shock she replies "Are you freakin kidding me? I have never ever said one word about you other than to my brother to say you're dope at what you do and it would be dope if you played for me." She continues as rage starts to build along with extreme laughter because at this point this is comical "and me and Sergio haven't spoken since he screwed me over at the last concert. He hit me up and said he wanted to talk to me because we've always been cool and he knew it wasn't right and he didn't want no beef. And I told him it's all good. And you mean to tell me him and his wife said that. I haven't talked to them and I would NEVER say that about you because you because A- IM NOT A LIAR and B- you are one of the ONLY men who is married but never came at me. I wouldn't tear up your marriage like that."

"Yea I didn't think you would but I had to ask. And they had to talk me down cause I was gone stroll up on boi and beat him up cause I don't play that."

"Well did your wife believe it?"

"Yea at the time she did cause some other stuff had happened." And at that moment it was like the phone was 9 miles away from her ear and all she could hear was her breathing in her ears as she thinks and hear goes my character under attack again and I'm completely innocent. It's one thing when people say things about you and there is truth to it but not the way that they tell It and that's bad enough. But its an entirely different story when you are 100% innocent and people tell a bold face lie.

So as she reels herself back into reality she says to him "Do you want me the call your wife? I don't even care about my name but you've never come at me and I'll be more than happy to tell her that if You want."

"Nooooo No. i just got everything calm I don't wanna open it back up. She's cool now (and in her head she's thinking yea with you but my name is screwed) she was just upset then."

"Okay. I mean if you don't want me to I won't but I'd be more than happy to clear your name."

"Nah it's all good. And please don't say anything cause I don't want anymore drama but I just needed to hear it from you."

"Nah you have my word, I won't say anything to Sergio or his dusty wife but this is super wild to me."

"Yea it is but what you making?" So she runs down the list and then they conclude the conversation with laughter cause I mean what else can you do and they hang up.

She sits the phone down and very joker like begins to laugh hysterically.

You may ask why would she be willing to clear his name when hers clearly had been smeared. The truth of the matter is, when you know what it is to have people lie REPEATEDLY and they're doing it to somebody you rock with, Real ones and loyal people wanna do what nobody does for you and that's go to bat for them. I've learned over the years that you cannot control what people believe. Once a story or a rumor is out people who are messy will believe mess. You can have receipts and show it to them for them that see with their own eyes but when people wanna see you through a certain filter that's what They will do. One of my exes said something that is one of the truest things I've ever heard. He said once a rumor is out I can't control what you believe, I can only outlive it. Don't feel the need to vindicate yourself, that's GODS job. And even if stories have been true about you in the past you just make sure they aren't true anymore.

The last thing I wanna highlight is this. Sometimes we have a hard time believing people would do certain things because WE wouldn't do it. However let me just assure you everyone is not you and people are capable of some disgusting things. You'll Never understand why they're doing it because if you did then you would be them. Not understanding it is great but don't let not understanding make you believe they couldn't and wouldn't. Could and would! So give up understanding and move to accepting. You don't have to hate them just be aware of who they are and govern yourself accordingly.
