2020 THE BLESSING MASKED IN DISGUSE

If you go to church then you know all about "watch night" service. If not let me bring you up to speed. "Watch Night" is the service that starts around 10:30pm on December 31st and you are there worshipping and attending until after midnight. It's just a way to thank God for seeing you through one year and into the next. At the watchnight service that was to usher in 2020 I told the people that this year was going to be Rehoboth. That word means to make room. I told them it would be a year where the Lord would make room but the catch was you can't tell him how nor control how he does it, you will simply have to trust him.

As this year unfolded I watched a lot of people decide to let this year kill off their hope and their power to speak life. Can I tell you I've seen more advancement in different areas of my life this year than any year that proceeded it and the main reason for that was I never let what was happening fool me into thinking this wasn't going to be a productive and prosperous year.

In this here panic filled year I learned that your mouth and your perspective is the power.

I launched this new blog which has more than triple the number of subscribers that my last blog had (and that blog was at least 4 years old when I laid it to rest in the Summer of 2020). I have the highest paying job that I've ever had in my life by $4 and I am in a lead role (and this was after losing another job in the middle of the year and filing for unemployment the last week they were giving out the extra $600 a week). I've sold more from my brand this year since the year I launched it when it was just a glasses company. I've put out two singles this year and one is arguably the best song I've done to date and am currently working to push out a new Christmas song for this year as well as already working on my first single for the new year. I've finished one book and I'm already working on my next one as well as currently creating my first online course. I got a car this year and I didn't even buy it, it was given to me. I took some online courses to further my business knowledge and it has given many ideas that I'm implementing and will be executing in the near future. I even won my first music award this year. I have numerous Ambassador offers that I will be cashing in on in the next few weeks so in 2021 the fashion here is about to go up a notch. I even learned how to edit pictures so well that I had professionals offering to work with me for free on my next photoshoot because they thought I was having professional shoots when I was just editing the heck out of iPhone pictures.

I said all of that to say that this year was for many who my heart goes out to, was a terrible year but when I saw all the post on social media that said "cancel 2020", "wake me up when 2020 is over", "throw the whole year away", "worst year ever" etc I never agreed or chimed in. I was determined that this year was going to be different and it was. It was a year full of challenges, don't get me wrong but the year had to yield because I said so. I never changed my confession to go with popular opinion.

2020 is the layup to what 2021 is going to be. In 2021 if this Virus skyrockets, make up your mind that you are living in "Goshen". That is where the children of Israel lived while they were enslaved to the Egyptians. When they got to the third plague things were happening in Egypt that weren't happening in Goshen because GOD wanted to make a distinction. I submit to you today that you should confess the same thing over yourself as I did. No matter what peril hits this earth and the world, I'm in Goshen. And guess what? This year isn't over. There is still time to take this year that was masked in a disaster become a dream come true. Stop agreeing with what everyone is saying and decide that you are going into 2021 with momentum. Perspective is still everything. Momentum can not be taught but you can certainly show people what it looks like.
